In twenty years of being a Costco member, I have bought a lot of appliances and electronic devices from Costco. When Ces and I got married 11 years ago, almost all our appliances that we used to furnish our apartment were bought from Costco as well. Believe it or not, a lot of those appliances are still being used today so I can assure you of the quality of those Costco products.
As an example, below are some of the electronics and appliances we bought that we are still using up to now – September 2015 and still counting!
- Kirkland Refrigerator (made by Whirlpool) – bought in 2004
- Panasonic TV – bought in 2004
- CD Player – bought in 2006
- Microwave – bought in 2004
- DVD Player – bought in 2004

4Â Things You Need To Know About Purchasing Electronics At Costco
1. Electronics Do Not Go on Sale But Comes with Instant Rebates or CouponsÂ
Although electronics do not go on sale, Costco usually offers instant rebate from time to time. We’ve bought laptops, tablets and even camera when instant rebates of at least $50 are offered. You do not have to wait for major holiday to avail this as these coupons or instant rebate come at any time.
The one thing that we like about Costco is that we can be assured that the price is very competitive. It may not be the lowest sometimes but you know that you’ll get value on it. As you can see from the items we bought above, most of the electronics and appliances lasted really long.
2. Costco Return Policy on Electronics
There is only a 90-day return policy when you purchase televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touchscreen Tablets, MP3 players and cell phones. Before 2007, Costco was very lenient with the policy but because of the abuse of some customers, the return policy for electronics was reduced and limited to only 90 days. You will get a full refund for your purchase when you return your merchandise.
