Personal Finance, Bargains/Deals and My Misc Ramblings
While the fifteen top paying jobs comprised mainly of doctors, the fifteen worst paying jobs are concentrated on the restaurant industry. This is not to demean those people because they have a decent jobs instead of committing crimes to make ends meet. In fact, when I just came in United States, I worked at McDonald’s as a crew person, flipping burgers and saying “Hi, May I help you,” to customers. So I’m sure most immigrants can relate to my experience. Of the top fifteen, the only job where I can see a big shortage in the future is the personal health care aides. While restaurant jobs can be filled up quickly, home health aides companies are seeing a shortage in the position. Some companies are already looking for people in another country, just like with nursing.
The following are the fifteen worst paying jobs:
Job - Mean Annual Salary
1. Food preparation/Serving Workers - $15,930
2. Cooks/Fast Food - $15,960
3. Dishwasher - $16,190
4. Dining Room/Cafeteria Attendants - $16,320
5. Hosts/Hostesses Restaurants - $16,860
6. Counter Attendants/Cafeteria - $16,950

In Las Vegas, you can see an abundance of the above workers both in the restaurant and gaming industries. They may be making only those amounts a year, but from what I heard, they could be making more because of the tips that they’re getting from the customers.
