Personal Finance, Bargains/Deals and My Misc Ramblings
It is this time of the year where it is considered as the most unproductive week in United States. Why? Because of the ongoing March Madness - the NCAA Division I Mens Basketball Tournament. A lot of workers are busy analyzing the teams and filling out their brackets. And as soon as the game starts, everybody will be busy keeping track of the games either by radio, internet or television.
Gambling has been one of the reason why the NCAA is making a lot of money on the tournaments. People are not watching the games because they are a big fan of the schools but because they have a vested interest on that team if it is included in someone’s brackets. Although some people do watch the games to cheer for their own team, a lot more will be watching because of the pool.
Of course, I did participate in one of the pools that is why I will be watching the games in our couch covered with new down comforters that my wife just bought. So far, I place 16th after the first round. The pool has 329 participants at $20 each and the jackpot is 35% of the pot so you’re looking at at lest $2,000 for the first prize winner.
It is not over yet and it is just getting interesting
