One of my nephew was born physically challenge and he has been utilizing a wheelchair ever since. Fortunately, he has been receiving financial and medical help from Medi-Cal, a state sponsored healthcare in California. It is really tough for my sister because they really have to adjust their lifestyle for the kid.

The State is covering his healthcare and because of his permanent disability he would also receive some disability stipend from the Social Security Administration (SSA). The social worker also told her that as part of the healthcare coverage, they would be able to pay for expenses such as the wheelchair, ramp, stair lift, and or physical and occupational therapy help.

My nephew has already undergone his first surgery to correct the bone structure on his leg. The doctor did the right leg first and they would be conducting surgery on the left leg as soon as he has recovered emotionally and physically.

As of now, he still feels the trauma with the first surgery that he is scared to go through the second one.
