My wife and I have been married since 2004 and we are planning to celebrate our third anniversary in Lake Tahoe this coming weekend!! We tried to go to different places every year since most of our friends who have kids already keeps telling us to enjoy traveling while you still can. Because once you start to have kids, it would be a lot harder to go on vacation unless they are already grown or you can find a baby sitter. Our anniversary date is really perfect because whenever we travel, it is always on a low season and we don’t have to pay a premium on both hotels and airfares. The first year was a trip to Hawaii where we got a deal from our travel agent friend. For both of us, we only paid $1300 and that already includes airfare, hotel, tours to Pearl harbor, Polynesian Center, and island tour. It is a four day and three night package. The second year, we have a smaller budget but we still want to experience a nice get away so we went to Sta. Catalina island, which is an island one hour off Long Beach and still part of Los Angeles County. For a change, we want to drive this time and a lot of our friends have suggested Lake Tahoe because of its romantic scenery. We’ve been to Las Vegas so many times so I figure, we should go up north.
