When you are just starting a family and you move to a new apartment, the best way to save money is to take advantage of all the donations from your friends and families. For example, one of my friend has gotten a leather home theater seating, dinner tables, and mattresses from his brother and this really helped him a lot to use the money earmark to these items into something else.

Accepting used furnitures is better than purchasing new ones because of the following:

  1. It saves you a lot of money. In fact, some of the used furnitures have a lot of useful life left in them.
  2. You might end up throwing them away in the future. When you finally buy your home, the furnitures that match in style in your apartment might not blend very well in your new home.

That is why I always recommend taking advantage of the used furnitures donated by your friends and families.
